Problems with driver "inclusion, inclusion"

My husband has only been put on this as some pills gave him acid reflux and to stop him feeling and being sick.He is on low chemo and half of boots.

And blood thinners injected in his leg.

He's managing to eat and drink and says he has no pain even with the pump so they are decreasing the morphine.

The problem we have is the damm thing keeps going wrong beeping away like a fridge door has been left open.

Almost every evening night and usually about 4AM it goes off.He doesn't move in his sleep he puts it out of the way with the pipe tube away so he can't pull or tangle it. Luckily we have just been moved to a bungalow as I'm ill and disabled too.It has a second bedroom so we sleep apart so I can't pull out the leads with my tossing and turning.

Just been told district nurse is coming to reset it but is over an hour away. We don't know why it keeps going wrong each nurse blames the next:"Well I don't know who put this in but it's all wrong." To one that said : "God that would drive me nuts pull the battery out!."

Every time they change it they give us the pp3 (smoke alarm type battery) as "there's still lots of use in it and it's a shame to throw it away." We are keeping in a box got 11 so far and they are Duracell.

Has anyone else had such problems.

He's seeing his specialist on 10th and says he'll mention it.

It's awful neither of us sleep great but this is just so tiring.

  • Hello Babybunny and welcome to our forum!

Poor you I can imagine this would drive anyone crazy especially with it going off at 4am.

Did the district nurse come in the end to reset it? I hope peace has been restored now and that it has stopped beeping.

I hope you will hear from others here who have had similar issues and that they will share their experiences with you. How did the appointment with the specialist go yesterday? It's a good idea to mention it to the specialist and I hope they have given you some good advice on this. You both deserve for your sleep to be uninterrupted!

If you wanted to have a chat to our nurses about this, don't hesitate to give them a call on 0808 800 4040 - their free helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
