Small cell cancer - stage 4a (any help!?)

Hi,

my partners grandad was told he has small cell cancer which he has in his right lung and it has spread to his liver, we just really want to know what it's been like for other people in this position, do we know how long he will have left? He seems absolutely fine in himself and it's totally just crashed the family into the ground himeslf included :( anyone been in this situation or have had family please tell me your stories!

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear about your partner's grandad - I hope you're all getting on OK.

    It's hard to answer any questions about timescales - typically this will need to be discussed with his specialist, although even then they can't always be sure. If any of you feel you need more information, do talk things through with the specialist when you can.

    Otherwise, if anyone here has similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.
