Mums endometrial cancer diagnosis

Hi all.

MY mum had breast cancer in 2013 and was taking tamoxifen until recently when she eas told she had endometrial hyperplasia without atypia (this was in jan2021) since then she had

more bleeding and pain so returned  to the hospital who repeated the biopsy and have now diagnosed grade 1

endometrial cancer. Im So scared worried and upset about her. Has this happened to anyone else ? We're waiting for her consultant appt which is on Friday.I'm just praying for a positive end to this horrible horrible nightmare

  • Hello Rachel1986

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's most recent diagnosis. It's understandable that you're all feeling so anxious about things and I hope that the Consultant appointment today brings some positive news and reassurance.

Endometrial cancer is a rare side effect of Tamoxifen affecting less than 1% of women who take it. It's positive to hear that your Mum's cancer this time was caught early and hopefully the treatment will be straightforward.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of ur team of nurses at any point you're most welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, support, and information that may be helpful. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do keep in touch and let us know how she gets on.

    Best wishes,
