Thank you. That's helpful. I shall keep in touch. I hope everything goes well with your 5th cycle. What was the stage if your cancer?
Hi
i hope you had a good bank holiday and are still feeling well after your treatment ?
I had similar side effects after my 5th treatment so am struggling with nausea and that awful bitter taste in my mouth where everything tastes like paracetamol I know it will pass and before I know it I will be having my 6th cycle and hopefully that will be it but who knows. The scary part is yet to come in terms of what happens next and whether this will be end of it all. It's always a wait and see with cancer isn't it?
I had few reasonable days but since yesterday out of energy. I am hoping it will get better. I sincerely hope that you won't need anything more after the final cycle. All my good wishes and prayers with you
Thank you so much. I truly wish the same for you and all other people who are going through treatment
Hi Uzafar
how are you doing with your treatment ? I hope it's going well
i finished my final cycle last week and waiting for results of my scan. I am feeling anxious to be honest.
you must be close to the finishing line too.
please let me know how you are getting on x
Hi
So pleased to hear you have finished your final cycle. I sincerely hope and pray you never come back to this again abd your disease remains in remission for ever. I can imagine the anxiety you are facing. I had 3 cycles. Last one was delayed by a week as my heart rate was very high. Needed to have cardiac investigations followed by 3rd cycle. Next one is due a week on Friday. Unfortunately my BRCA mutation is positive which means a very high risk of breast cancer. This has played up on my mind as well. I don't have a choice hence going with the flow and staying positive.
I wish you a long, strong and healthy life in the years to come snd pray that you never come across this disease again
Hi Uzafar
Thank you for your good wishes. As they say....from your mouth to gods ears
I hope your cardiac investigations were nothing serious. I had similar on my 4th cycle and they said the treatment was causing it. It has all gone back to normal.
please stay positive - this is a horrendous journey I have never ever felt so alone but keeping myself positive and as healthy as I can gave me a fighting chance to tolerate the treatment.
I hope and pray that you too get to the finishing line and remain well. I had my meeting yesterday with the oncologist and my scans are clear. I am very relieved and eternally grateful to everyone that has helped me to get here
please stay in touch and let me know how you are getting on. Sending you positive vibes and good wishes to stay strong and beat this disease.
Lots of love xxx
Hi Uzafar
Just checking in with you to see how you are doing. Have you finished your chemo now?
I really hope you are O.K
Sending you lots of love xxx
Hi,
Good to hear from you. I have my 6th and final chemo in few days and hoping it will go fine. I have significant side effects of paraesthesia in my hands and feet but otherwise fine. A CT scan us also booked in 2 weeks. I hope it comes back as negative and clear. I have to have some oral medication for 2 years to prevent recurrence. This will be started in 4-6 weeks after the last chemo. Are you taking something similar? Apparently these drugs are a sort of mini chemo with similar side effects.
I am looking forward to some normality in my life and hoping to go back to work in the near future.
I hope you are keeping well. Please tell me how you feel since the last chemo and gave you been offered any genetic testing?
I am tested positive for BRCA mutation which means I am vulnerable to having aggressive breast cancer snd other cancers.
Please stay in touch
Uzma
Hi Uzma
i am so pleased to hear from you and happy to hear you are nearing the end of your treatment. It is a relief to reach the end despite the side effects. I too have peripheral neuropathy and agonising pains in my feet making it quite hard for me to enjoy my yoga practice but I still force myself to keep doing it though. I am told that this will clear up eventually but no one knows when.
I have been feeling well since my last cycle. It's good to be able to taste good again but the downside is that I have regained all the weight I lost
I have Avastin every three weeks which is a half hour infusion with no side effects . This I am told will stop any cells which may not have been killed off from the chemo and stops new ones from getting a blood supply. I have to stay on it until March. I was tested for BRCA and thankfully that came back negative.
I am hopeful that whatever regime they have out on both on will help keep this horrible disease at bay
Are you coping with the treatment and the side effects? I assume from what you wrote that you have not yet returned to work. I know for me going back to work made me forget the cancer and the joy of being back in the driving seat really helped.
You are nearly there now. You should be so proud that you got to this point. I pray every day that every single one of us never has a recurrence ever again.
I am sending you hugs and prayers Uzma. Please stay in touch xxx
