Grade 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer

Hi

I've just been diagnosed with Grade 3 Triple Negative breast cancer. Currently waiting on a further appointment to discuss my treatment options - chemotherapy then surgery or surgery then chemotherapy.

I'm devastated and terrified. Everything I've read about triple negative breast cancer is very negative. Not very hopeful.

I suppose I'm looking for some positivity and hope I find it here. If someone had/has the same diagnosis and a positive response to treatment, I'd be grateful to read about it.

Thank you

  • Hello [@AnneR09]‍

i have recently been diagnosed with triple negative Brest Cancer, I'm due to see my oncologist on Thursday prior to starting my chemo before I have surgery (in approximately 6months time)

I'm  scared too, but I'm focusing on the fact the breast surgeon has told me that my cancer is treatable.

I can't really tell you anything else at this time but here if you want to talk

  • Hi [@Kizzi551]‍

Thank you for your kind reply and offer of support. Wishing you all the very best for Thursday and your subsequent treatment.

  • Me too.

I've just had treatment confirmed as 5 months chemo ("AC"... seems to be the typical treatment). Then surgery (I'm going double mastectomy as I know I am BRCA1).

The Oncologist was very positive that she could cure it. The thing with triple negative is there are fewer treatment options currently ... but there are options and it is absolutely cureable.

I'm scared too. But we can do this. I start chemo on Friday.

  • Hi [@Moppity]‍

Thank you for your response. I'm pleased to note that your oncologist was very positive about your treatment. Wishing you all the very best for your chemotherapy and surgery.
