Newly diagnosed with breast cancer

Hello All

I am a 66 year old who has just been diagnosed with a breast cancer ,it is very small but have to have a lumpectomy sentinel node biopsy followed by a week of radiotherapy ,and depending on the result of another test maybe chemo and hormone therapy .I am scared to say the least and having had vulva cancer 10 years ago never thought cancer would return for another bite at my femininity .Please is there someone out there who can give me some words of comfort as I am quietly falling apart .Thank you

    Sorry to hear your news, it's totally understandable that your scared especially with your history. Have they driven you dates for procedure?

    Do you have a good support network, people you can talk with.

    I got diagnosed with breast cancer 31st March and have had lumpectomy and snlb I got those results last week and although expected the worse it was still a shock.

    I see my oncologist tomorrow to find out when I start 6 months of chemo then I have to have radiotherapy. Most of the time I'm positive but last night I had a massive wobble.

    Your breast nurses will be at the end of a phone for any queries, concerns etc I know mine are fantastic.

    I am sorry to hear about your diagnoses too and hope the chemo goes well ,I have had a few wobbles already so fully understand how you feel .I think the waiting for answers is the worst part ,I really want to get started on this journey as soon as possible ,thankfully I have my op date on the 10th June then a week of radiotherapy ,I am so hoping I wont need chemo but in the end if its needed then so be it .

    I have a very supportive husband and my Sisters live locally so have a good network ,the breast nurse I meet last week was very sweet she helped put things into perspective for me
