Diagnosed with cervical cancer, but feel totally fine???

Hi all

looking for some advice. Recently diagnosed with cervical cancer and had the MRI and await results of the same. I feel totally fine and other than discharge and a small amount of bloating (appears to be stomach) nothing else seems to be wrong. Hoping I don't have advanced CC, but silly question is how can I feel totally healthy other than above and it be something so sinister.

worried about treatment and how poorly it is going to make me. Fingers crossed it's treatable in the first place!

anyone feeling sams about not having any issues in general and just getting on with life....

worried mum of one 13 year old.

  • Hi Bx3008,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hear what you are saying about been diagnosed with cancer but feeling fine. I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago and will be starting chemo quite soon.
Aside from scans, appointments, biopsies etc I feel totally fine and have been going about my normal life. As you say it is a worry about how treatment will change things. It's good to talk to people at the hospital about side effects/ impact of treatment. It can be hard to prepare for something completely new and unknown. Hope all goes well for you.

  • Hi Bx2008

I’m sorry to read of your diagnosis and hope you get your treatment plan soon. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2018 and in general felt fine, except for unexplained bleeding which brought me to the doctor in the first place. Advanced cervical cancer has lots of symptoms and pain, so you feeling fine is a good sign that this will not be  case for you, and you will receive treatment depending on the stage of your cancer.

If you need any advice or support(bearing in mind I’m not a medical professional but someone who has been through this cancer twice and experienced a variety of treatment) please reach out. x
