Hi Susan,

My husband was diagnosed in July with colon cancer which had spread to his stomach and liver as well as a lungs and lymph nodes. He was fit and healthy just weeks before the diagnosis and then suddenly your world is upside down. My heart goes out to you because I am scared too. I was told by a friend early on that it's a rollercoaster and how true that's been. I think the shock is just starting to wear off but the sadness is always there. It's a learning curb and suddenly you are making life and death decisions when you are still getting to grips with what the hell is happening to your family. I see you found out in May so you are ahead of us in your journey of discovery and I hope you have found ways to cope and people to be there for you. When my husband was in hospital after the op it was an awful, awful time but one of the things that got me through it was just telling myself " I get to be with him today " looking forward isn't something I can do yet and that's been really hard to accept  as it's how I've always lived . Now is what  I have so  I try to stay focused on that. 

I am so sorry to hear about both of your husbands, my dad was diagnosed in 2018 at stage 3/4 he is currently awaiting a stoma reversal operation and has no evidence of disease so please hold out hope, our bodies have shading ways of coping even in the most desperate times when you're think all hope is gone. 

I am currently now going through my own bowel cancer scare so so what prompted your husbands to be diagnosed what sort of symptoms did they have?  My dad only had a feeling on incomplete evacuation no blood or pain Charl x
