Early days, questions galore

Hello.

lm still reeling

After 2 years trying to get to the bottom of Ent issues - hot, blocked ear, intermittent loss of hearing, tinnitus/droning sound in back of head, constant congestion and face pain - with no answers, I was referred to a dental specialist believing two upper impacted wisdom teeth were causing the grief. At the same time, i mentioned a lump on the roof of my mouth that'd been there about six months which I felt was a while for what I thought was a hot food burn. However? a biopsy on the lump revealed Non Hodgkin's lymphoma.

I'm beyond scared!

Ive been referred for a Pet scan but the dentist knows no more as it's not his area. All info has, slowly, been passed onto my own dentist but not my doctor who was completely unaware of anything so not wanting to intervene. I'm scared of getting lost in the system as no one I've dealt with appears to have the time, expertise or knowledge :(

Has anyone else had similar to me - ent/palate/nhl? I have no answers and am driving myself absolutely insane trying to find some.

  • Hello ndg,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I hope your upcoming scan goes ok. There is some information here on getting diagnosed and if you have any questions around what was revealed at your last biopsy, it might help to write them down and take them with you to your next appointment. This could help you feel more prepared. Your doctors are doing all they can to help and would want to address your concerns.

    Best wishes,
