Small cell prostate cancer

My dad has been diagnosed with small cell prostate cancer and has just started chemo. I don't think the diagnosis is looking good but we know very little about this cancer has anyone experienced this or know someone who has? Thanks

  • Hello Leonardr

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's diagnosis. It's obviously a difficult time for you all.

Small cell prostate cancer is a rare type of prostate cancer and I'm unsure if we've any members here currently who are going through treatment for this. We do have some information on our website here that you may find helpful.

If you want to talk things through with one of our team of nurses you're most welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they will be able to give yo u some information and advice. They're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi my dad got diagnosed in March with small cell prostate cancer and the common prostate cancer.

unfortunately my dads cancer has spread very quickly and is now in his spine, hip, liver and lymph nodes.

he is currently having his 3rd round of chemo today then he will have a scan to see if it is helping.

dads prognosis was poor he was given months up to a year in June. He's doing okay now his pain is managed.

how is your dad doing? There is hardly no information on small cell prostate cancer I've searched high and low, it's so disheartening.

    sending love,
