Pain in arm after lobectomy

Hi everyone was just wondering is it normal to get pain and tingling feeling in left arm 8 weeks after lobectomy . Many thanks

  • Hello Sharay,

Welcome to our forum! I am sorry to hear about this pain you have been getting following a lobectomy. I think it would be worth perhaps mentioning it to your medical team so that they are aware that you are getting this pain and tingling feeling 8 weeks after. Your doctor will be in the best position to tell you more as to whether this is something that is to be expected.

I hope that you will hear from other members too and that they will share their post lobectomy experiences with you.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Sharay,

I had a lobectomy 11 years ago and still get pain under my arm, although I do not get a tingling. I was told that this was to be expected.

It is certainly worth mentioning this to your medical team.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi jolamine thank you for your reply I have an appointment next week with my specialist I'm also wondering if it could be a side effect to my medication as they put me on beta blockers as after the operation my heart started racing they diagnosed me with atrial fibrillation.

    Kind regards sharay

  • Hi Lucy thankyou for your reply I have an appointment with my specialist next week I'm just hoping I can get some answers . I'm finding it so difficult at the moment I had my operation on the 19 th February and haven't seen anyone yet to discuss my side effects . kind regards sharay

  • Hi Sharay,

I am glad to hear that you already have an appointment with your consultant next week. I am not a doctor, but my husband is on beta blockers. These slow down the heart and stop it from racing, but I very much doubt that they'll be responsible for your pain. I hope that your appointment will offer a solution to your problems.

This is a long time to have to wait since your surgery and, I hope that it all goes well for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
