I have been on the  urgent waiting list since December, but so far I have no news when I will have my operation .Please if anyone has experience with this write to me

  • Hello Pap21

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some ongoing health concerns. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about the repeated return of cervical cell changes.

There is some information on the Jo's Trust website about having a hysterectomy for cell changes that keep returning. You can read more here. Jo's Trust also has a helpline that you can call to talk to someone.

In terms of how long you may have to wait for your surgery, I'd suggest giving the Consultant's secretary a call or asking your GP to make some enquiries. Unfortunately with all that has been happening over the past few months, there have been surgery delays and backlogs but it's not unreasonable to give them a call to ask if they can tell you when you may have an appointment.

If you'd like to chat things through with one of our team of nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

I hope that you have some news soon.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
