Stopping Chemotherapy

Hi I have stage 3 breast cancer ...both breasts need to be removed alongside lymph nodes.  Its all happened very fast and ive had two chemo cycles so far.  I dont want to continue.  Im going to talk to surgeon tomorrow about going straight to surgery.  Has anyone here come to a similar decision?  I know that ultimately it is my choice...Im nearly 60 and would rather take my chances

Sending everyone here love and luck for their journeys

  • [@KikiDavis]‍ , Hi Kiki, I’m so sorry for the way you feel. We are the same age. Do I take it they are trying to shrink your tumours first before surgery? I had a mastectomy first as it was an aggressive cancer. I have just finished chemo 2, it’s not a picnic is it love? I am day 11 after chemo 2 and am just about getting back to normal. It is unthinkable even on down days for me not to continue with the other chemo cycles, I found Mr Right late in life, and I am at the happiest point in my life, or ‘was’ until diagnosed late last year. I purely and simply want to live, no matter how awful the medicine, i’ll take it all.  ‘Nearly 60’ is still so young Kiki. I know you wanted to hear from people sitting on the other side of the fence, and I apologise if you haven’t found this helpful. I am posting on cancer chat alongside two other ladies, both like me at the early point of chemo, two post surgery, one pre surgery, if you’d like to join us for support please do, you’ll be welcomed with open arms. Remember to put @ and my name at the start of a message and i’ll get an email notification. And thank you for the love and luck you sent us all. All the very best. Lyn. XX

  • [@yorkiegal]‍ Thank you so very much for responding and sorry for delay in getting back to you.  I totally understand what you are saying and I too feel that nearly 60 is very young!  I am so glad that you are in love, it is so special especially when later in life.  I am going to chat to team tomorrow or Wednesday and have started the ball rolling.  I will keep an open mind I promise.  Lyn if I stay with the treatment I would love to join for support, kindest kindest wishes for now Clare

  • [@KikiDavis]‍ , No worries at all re delay in getting back. Good luck Clare with whatever you decide. As I said,  if you do wish to join us for support and a shoulder please get back. All the very best and take care. Lyn. XX
