Hi,

it's an awful shock I know, but they have found it so early which is good news. I had a llump appear and the cancer had already spread to lymph nodes under arm . I also had a biopsy on my other breast but that was clear. The mammogram I had the year before did not show the carcinoma. I had a masectomy and treatment. The nurses and doctors will look after you.

I had surgery last tuesday.I had 2 areas of DCIS which were 4 cm apart.The surgeon said it went well.They had to fill the area with breast tissue,so the have basically given me a breat lift,they have move my nipple.My breast is healing nicely.Still bruised.Now waiting on the results which I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow.

That's great that you have kept your breast and nipple. It's a relief when the surgery is over and you can get on with healing.

I had my surgery done within a week.Had my appointment at the hospital on 27th april.The doctor told me she had booked me in for surgery on 4th may..It was day surgery.Went in at 7am.Had to have wires put in my breast,which was a guide to the area they were removing.Surgery took a couple of hours.I was home by 4.30pm.

Got the results.They got all of the Dcis and no traces of cancer,but have got an infection.On a course of antibiotics.
