I am one of the enquiry nurses that Lucie mentioned.

I’m afraid I can’t tell you what the options might be for your dad or interpret his medical reports in any detail. Only a specialist can do this.  I think his options will depend on the extent of the cancer and his health. This may well be a small cancer, but as the specialist is asking for a MRI scan it seems this needs to be confirmed.    

I don’t know how old your dad is; age has some bearing on treatment options because in general fitness tends to decline with age. A Gleason score of 6 which is given in the report doesn’t suggest a fast growing cancer so there may be the option of active surveillance. This is when the cancer is monitored and treatment is deferred.  All treatments have some sort of side effects so deferring treatment also postpones the potential for side effects.

Not knowing what the treatment plan will be can be frustrating and worrying, but really only the specialist team involved can advise your dad about his options and take his views into account, so it is best to wait to hear what they think.  If it helps to do some background reading, we have a section about prostate cancer on our website that has some general information at this link.

Thanks for reply and link.There is a delay in report result that's why I was waiting for RMI results.  Missed to add my

Dad is 75 Y old and he normally a healthy person generally.Only issue he has is the difficulty of urine and the lead to an operation that open everything. 

As RMI report shows different results. TNM stage T2c now. I understand the fact specialist can do treatment option survival rates and how long.But need to ready me  so that can took right decision on right time  and convince another family members 

we are in the process of going to that stage to find appointment back home from cancer hospital. Mean while I need to understand the current situation and when the decision time comes am more ready for that.
