Just Diagnosed. With Essential Thrombocythemia

Hello.

I've had my second consultation (via phone due to Covid protocols)  where E.T was confirmed. My only question is that the consultant said I will have an appointment with a nurse booked as I need to sign a consent form for the medication (Hydroxycarbamide) but he was very vague as to when this was likely to take place. Given the current Covid pandemic issues and the strain it had put on the NHS, I'm not expecting a next day service. However, is there a general timescale for these appointments to take place? Obviously I'm eager to get started on the treatment asap and the waiting is somewhat unnerving.

Kind regards

John

  • Thank you Lyn.

I'm reading through the messages that others have posted over the years and although the general theme is positive, it's the waiting that's the worrying thing for me right now. I'll post any updates as and when.
