  • Hello there, it is ok to feel nervous as most people feel nervous from these things as it's all very new. As a patient who is currently in maintenance I'll gladly answer all your questions.

However before I answer I just want to say that I think your on the lower end of risk. You have a week of chemo and then only one week of recovery which is very good. I had one week of chemo and two weeks of recovery however that ended up extending to around 3 weeks. This may be because my treatment was more intense then yours however as I am Philadelphia Positive.

do u feel the chemo going in?

Answer: Generally, no you don't really feel the chemo going in, depending on what kind of central line you have and how cold the chemo is, you might feel some coldness but thats about it.

How long do side effects take? If any?
Answer: 99% of people are bound to have some sort of side effect and how long they last varies from person to person so I can't give you an exact time.
