Hi, I was diagnosed just over a week ago and I am having a lumpectomy on Wednesday. I am worried how long recover will take. I have a cancer that 3cms and they are taking my nipple and some lymph nodes. I have an oestrogen fed cancer so I will have to take oestrogen blockers that apparently can have side effects of the menopause. How long is recovery from the surgery? I also have to have radiotherapy for five days and would like to know what that feels like. I'm worried about everything really

    Hi 

    I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with BC 

    I had my surgery 17th Dec 2020 and had radio therapy of 5 session after 5 weeks of the surgery 

    I found radio therapy wasn't too bad 

    I found after 3 weeks of the surgery I was starting to feel little better  with exercise they given that does help with the arm flexibility 

    After the 3rd session of radio therapy then arm and breast start feeling tender again 

    Don't be scared just take one thing at time concentrate on surgery then radio therapy 

    Then the medication 

    My surgery was 4 months ago and now I have started to feel bit normal but everyone is different some recover more quickly than the others

    Thank you. That is all useful information. It's all a bit of a blur at the moment as I'm sure you understand. I'm glad your feeling better now.
