Hi - I am 77 years old, female, live in the north west. Was diagnosed month ago with ductul invasive breast cancer (left breast) E and P negative but with HER2 positive. 2 tumours in left breast equal to about 40mm. I am having 3 cycles of E.P. (every 21 days) followed by 3 cycles (every 21 days) of docetaxal, pertuzumab and trastuzumab before surgery in the hope of shrinkage to tumours. Due to my age I wonder how I will cope, am reasonably fit still walking, climbing stairs etc. Has any other lady of a similar age had treatment of this kind, and how did you/they cope? Last week at my first meeting with Oncology, my blood pressure was sky high (169/91) it has never been this high and am so alarmed it may stop my chemo which is scheduled for 25th March, has anyone out there had blood pressure problems which affected treatment? For the past 4 weeks I have been on amoldipine, which does not appear to be doing much. I have kept a diary of my bp and on the whole it is 140/80 throughout the day. No doubt it could be "white coat syndrome" but how do I control it? Am also opting for the cold cap any hints as to manage all the above would be gratefully received. Thank You
