Stage 4 Small Cell Cancer

I've just been diognosed with SCLC in my right lower lung which has spread to my left lymphoma gland at the top of my Kidney I've just started chemo had two rounds with two more to go I've been on pages and people are saying that this is not curable which I know it's not but I just want to know if anyone out there has smoked while having treatment as people are saying if it's not curable than why stop please advise and aLeo what is the time span

thanks

  • Be positive, no matter what they say that its not curable, you don't have to believe that.  Tell yourself you will get better.  I know of someone who had stage 3 cancer and her treatment was stopped and was told enjoy your life, we can do no more.  Last week this lady was declared free of cancer.  If you want to smoke, enjoy it.

My father in law is 104, he has smoked all his life and drunk all his life as well, and still going well.  Wish you a full recovery.   Keep yourself stress free and enjoy your life.

I have been just diagnosed of stage 2 tongue cancer and I am doing exactly what I have suggested to you.

    Good Luck

  • Hi after speaking to my Cancer nurse I'd advise not to smoke with this as I stopped in round one chemo but had bad news in round 2/4 and  started again for a week now I'm suffering with bad chest pains where my cancer is and also in my back I've stopped again now but I recommend that this aching pain in my right lung is due to starting smoking again this is what I'm telling myself as I'm so scared that my cancer has spread in dreading going for my scan after 3/4 chemo for them to tell me it's spread it's keeping me awake for hours thinking the worse people are saying it due to the chemo has anyone experienced this please advise I've stopped googling as it's bleak
