New lump - should I be concerned

I am newly diagnosed with breast cancer, and am currently waiting on an appointment to confirm my treatment plan.

This morning I have found a small (pea sized) lump on my very outer labia/pubic mound (not sure how to best describe the position)

Should I contact a doctor? If so, the breast care clinic or my GP?! Or should I wait? A quick google has said to see if it is still around in two weeks but not sure if the breast cancer diagnosis might make this a special circumstance?!

  • Hello MissThomas1988,

I wouldn't wait two weeks despite what Google might be telling you. I think with any new lump found, it is a good idea to contact your GP as soon as you've discovered it. I think the GP would be a good first port of call in this instance rather than the breast care clinic as the lump isn't located on the breast. So don't hesitate to give your surgery a call today and explain that you have found this lump. Do mention to your doctor that you have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer as this is something he or she will want to know.

I hope your appointment goes well and I am keeping everything crossed for you.

    Best wishes,
