DCIS DIAGNOSED

Hi,  I'm Denise 49yo

Ihave been diagnosed with DCIS on Monday 22nd Feb. After the first needle biopsy they said the calcification had potential to grow as cancer so they did a bigger needle biopsy to take it out.  Then, the bit I don't get,  if they took it out that I now have to have surgery to remove DCIS.. . This is in my left boob.  History is my nan, mum and aunt all had it, mum had a mastectomy for hers they are all still alive as well. Which is lovely.

I've been having yearly mammograms since aged 40, I'm now 49.  This grew from 2019 mammogram to 2020 mammogram. Which I think is quite quick.

I'm now waiting for a surgery appointment, what with covid etc could be a while to wait they said.  I'm having wire guided and breast conserving.

No mention of radio/chemo or drugs as they are waiting till its removed to decide.

I'm just chatting with you ladies as I also don't wish to worry my family to much or for them to have to think I'm worried.  My hubby is driving me insane.

Xx
