Oncotype test

Hi everybody 

my first time posting on here 

I got diagnosed with grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma on 30th December ,I have had the lumpectomy ,nodes was clear and clear margin also her2 negative 

recently got results back from oncotype dx test that came back at 15 which is low 

I see oncologist next week I got a feeling they still goigto try push me into chemotherapy because of my age 37 which I

was hoping I could avoid anybody else been in this situation ?

you all seem so nice and supportive on here so glad I have found a nice group xxx

    Hi I was diagnosed 2 years ago now at 46. My onco test came back at 23 so was told it was my choice whether I had chemo. It was tough but after weighing up the numbers I decided not to. I had had a lumpectomy with clear margins and 15 sessions of radiotherapy Chemo would give me a 3-6% chance of non re-occurrence . Everybody is different and I obviously have to live with that decision but for me I still feel it was right. I’ve just had my 2nd mammogram and all clear. All I would say is get all the figures for you and take it from there. Good luck you’ve got this , nicky xxx

    that is very reassuring for me think I'm just panicking again really I don't no ,was it the oncologist who reccomended chemo for you ? It's my first time seeing one so don't really no what to expect ,well you doing really well Nicky 2 years on that's amazing good for you ,I have got to have radiotherapy and hormone treatment also so suppose that gets discussed also

    I had grade 2 lobular breast cancer when I was 48, in 2019. My oncotype score came back as 16 and I was told I wouldn't need chemo. But my surgeon also told me that lobular cancer doesn't respond brilliantly to chemo so wouldn't have proved beneficial. I had a partial mastectomy, then had a second op as margins weren't clear.  Then had 15 sessions of radio. Now on tamoxifen. Did feel cheated re chemo as I was convinced that it would lower my reoccurrence but now I have stepped back and moved on and am glad I avoided it!!

    Hi yes it was the onco but they didn’t so much recommend chemo they just said it’s my choice so from that I thought well if she knew chemo would be greatly beneficial she would have said so.  You’ll know more when you meet them Next week.
