Jus a few weeks ago i was diagnosed with Invasive ducal carcinoma Her2 positive. Mammogram showed fibroadenoma and ultrasound small lesion , when i came for biopsy results i get diagnosis: breast cancer . I wish to find someone with same diagnosis to keep in touch and chat about it . X

  • @Lyn, my GP give me sick letter as from 2/3/21-2/4/21 and this is extra 10 days for isolation period and this is the hardest part of my life. Iam working with people with learning disabilities and autism in supporting leaving service. Basically i have one lady to support as she is 1:1 for 14 hours a day. Yes i will see how i will be near to my end of sick leave and will take from that. Have a lovely day .Z x

  • [@Anna71]‍ , The self isolation must be very difficult for you, what a wonderful job you have. iI’m suprised the self isolation period has been included in your sick note. Maybe the maximum sick note length is 28 days at a time. You will definitely not be fit to return 2 weeks post op, You’ll have to take it one day at a time, and give your employer several days notice before the second of april arrives. You take care Z, sending you a huge hug. Lyn. X

  • @Lyn, when i requested sick leave i did it online and my GP phoned me to ask if everything its ok and informed me that they will send electronically. So i put the date myself online and i got what I requested. Yes i love my job and people its very important for me ( iam working with two ladies as they sharing flat). Its wonderful feeling to make people happy. Apart that at home i have two kids 21 and 11 but they both independent . Thinking of you .Zx

  • [@Anna71]‍ , You sound to be at a great stage in your life Z, this IDC is only a blip for you. Relax if possible, chill out, be kind to yourself, eat foods that make you and your family happy, and get plenty of relaxing showers or baths in the next week, believe me you will miss them! I have just had my second post op shower  - I now have a totally waterproof dressing on now under my boob, I have been having strip washes every day in the bathroom sink for 5 weeks. I HATED not being in the shower every day. So......I’m sat here with a mug of hot chocolate, a fruit platter, and life feels really good right now. First Chemo is next week, but I always live in the moment, life is much easier that way, next week is next week. You take care lovely, speak soon, Lyn. X

  • @Lyn, how are you doing with your treatment ? Iam going for surgery tomorrow as they brought forward from Friday to Wednesday. Very difficult time at the moment but next week at the same time i will laugh that i was scared and anxious. Wishing you beautiful sunny day , good time for a walk to enjoy sunny morning . Zx

  • [@Anna71]‍ Hi Z, mine was brought forward too, possibly someone else not able to make surgery for whatever reason. I’m good, back at hospital today at 11.30 to check things, not had a phone call yet for chemo, MUGA scan was easy peasy, no feedback from that yet. It WILL be difficult initially for you tomorrow, I was in a heightened state of anxiety, but I immediately calmed down once I got booked in at the hospital, when I realised how absolutely amazing the nursing team were, so kind and thoughtful, that wonderful care continued right to the end of my stay. These NHS workers need medals for the care and compassion they give, day in day out. You go girl - you will feel only relief post op, mixed with a bit of pain of course as with any op, but it won’t overshadow the elation you will feel at that missing cancer, consigned to the path lab fridge. I will be sending you mega happy and love filled vibes tomorrow. You get well, and check in when you’re up to it. Lyn. XXX

  • @Lyn, thank you for your lovely msg im always smiling when i read your msg. Please let me know how is your appointment goes for today. Im trying to keep myself busy from morning with things at home , what i never did in past few years now is the right time to sort out. Im thinking of you and trying be strong and positive like you. X

  • [@Anna71]‍ , Everything good at hospital, got a phone call on the way home, MUGA scan all good, covid test at the hospital next monday morning and first chemo on tuesday morning. So all systems go Zana. Good luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.  XX

  • @Lyn, good morning how are you? Getting ready for next week first chemo ?i was thinking about you at hospital, so yes i had mastectomy on 10 th and reconstruction on the same day. Spend one night at hospital all went well , surprised how quickly everything went and im already at home.will have two weeks antibiotics and thats anout it. Drain its with me , so i have something to look after. Now i will have some time to rest and wait for pathology report. Iam so glad to know that cancer is out of my body but honestly i still dont believe that its me and everything whats going on its me . Its like brain fog ... Lots of support from good people in hospital especially breast cancer nurses they amazing. Wishing you beautiful day . Z x

  • [@Anna71]‍ hi Z, so pleased everything went well, you sound really chirpy! I know exactly what you mean about not believing what’s happening, and a difficulty to believe everything everything going on. I have been exactly the same, it’s a surreal feeling, some days I am absolutely ‘with it’ and other days totally not. Lots of time for you to rest, that is absolutely what you should do as much as possible. The nurses are amazing aren’t they? Really compassionate, such lovely people. Life will be so much easier when you can get rid of the drains. It all felt like a complete doddle after those went. I got my phone call from the hospital on tuesday afternoon, the MUGA test was all good, so I have a covid test next Monday morning, and my first chemo is Tuesday morning. Not looking forward to it, but who is? The sooner I get started with the cycles, the sooner it will end. Have a lovely weekend with your family, will let you know how I get on on Tuesday. All the best Lyn. X
