Breast lump and hot painful feeling

Hello,

I have had a smallish lump in my breast for a couple of months but thought nothing of it and recently my breast started feeling hot and the lump hurting so much that I couldn't sleep on it so went to docs. She wasn't that helpful - just said "yes that's definitely a lump" then said she didn't think it was cancer as wasn't that hard but more raggedy feeling. She didn't explain why it was hot or painful but refered me to hospital for a scan within two weeks. Is she lying that it's not cancer when she knows it is or is this just normal procedure? I am freaking out waiting now for hospital appointment. She couldn't say why it was hot and painful - is this a good sign or not a good sign - any help appreciated!

  • Hello Sophie999,

It's hard to tell at this point. Your GP is doing the best that they can to get to bottom of your symptoms and it's quite normal to sent for a hospital appointment. If you have any concerns, it might be a good idea to write them down so you feel more prepared. I understnad it can be difficult, but try not to worry.

    Best wishes,
