Breast cancer and tamoxifen and zoladex

Hi, I am 41 and was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2020. I have started tamoxifen and zoladex 3 weeks ago, feel ok but it is affecting my sleep. I take the tamoxifen at night but not sure if that matters. Has anyone else had this problem and if so can we take anything to help with it. Also I can get very impatient at times...

  • Hiya I take letrazole, equivalent to tamoxafen.

It does effect your sleep pattern.

    But it soon settles down.

    I don't get mood swings.

I have been put back into the menapause because of it.

Hope this helps even a little.

    Take it day by day

    Sending squishy hugs

Also I have some other side effects my  legs and ankles hurts

First thing in the morning it's fine no pain but after hour or so when start walking about then pain starts

Then i put surgical stockings on pain goes away

Also other side effect I have tingling feeling near my ear and one side of my head it's very annoying when I try to sleep !!

Also on my legs I get yellow spots and some places pink area , but it goes away after few days but cant see any swelling

I have been reading some reviews of this drug and mostly they complained having joint pain

Well have to wait and see how it goes with the time

    Thanks again

  • Hi there, I know this post is from January but I'm commenting anyway lol.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, it had spread to the lymph nodes, I had surgery and treatment, and was also put on tamoxifen and zoladex, (still on both now) it's very difficult to get through to my oncologist during this pandemic, if I'm honest the hormone treatment has played havoc with my bones and joints (I'm only 45 now) and I have about a week a month that I just feel completely overwhelmed and exhausted, and tearful.
bedn waiting for a bone density scan for months! Apparently we are supposed to have one at the start of hormone treatment but I never got one unfortunately, anyone had one of these?
anyway, I hope everyone going through the rollercoaster of this horrid little "c" is doing well both mentally and physically.
    much love. Emma
