Awaiting keyhole meningioma surgery, anyone had this?

Hi, my mum is due to have meningioma keyhole surgery soon on a tumour diagnosed just before Christmas.  Her balance, memory and cognitive function are badly affected, no guarantees but hoping these at least stabilise afterwards!   Anyone had this surgery and can give me any ideas of outcome, recovery process etc.   Appreciate any input thanks, good or bad...just be good to have a rough idea of the process her on in.   Should say I was on the Zoom call with neurosurgeon, and very reassured he is experienced and confident about good out come as Mum fairly fit and well normally so optimistic.
thank you.

  • Hello Granmarose and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your mum.

Hopefully, others who had experience with this type of surgery will come along shortly to share their stories with you. Until they do I thought I might leave you with a bit of information we have on our website about surgery for spinal cord tumours, to read more please click here.

Also, feel free to reach out to our cancer nurses and ask any question you might have. They're available on this phone number 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Best wishes to you and your mum,
