I'm so glad that you're improving and regaining your strength. So it's more waiting around once we've had the surgery to see whether chemo is needed. It just feels like one hurdle after another doesn't it. I'm being tested for genetics too with my age and I've got young children so if it is genetic at least they both can get early screening. Hope you get your results soon xx
Hi, just wanted to wish you well for today. I am thinking about you and hoping your outcome is good. Please let me know how you are when you feel up to it! Xx
Hi, how are you doing? Did your surgery go well? Xx
Hi,
I'm home, won't lie it was blooming hard but I'm home to continue my recovery. I just can't get comfortable, I'm a side sleeper so that's out of the question for now. I've got a very uncomfortable hemoroid from surgery so hoping that just works it's way back in, I had a failed catheter the first time when they removed it, I was told that if it failed again they send you home with one strapped to your leg for 6 weeks so I made sure it didn't fail again.
How are you feeling mow? xx
Hi,
oh my goodness you have had a rough time by the sound of it. Have you ended up with a stoma then or pare you just uncomfortable on your side due to surgery? So glad you got your Catheter sorted out, that was one of my fears, they are such a horrible thing to have to manage aren't they!
I am doing well thanks. Just over four weeks since my surgery now. No more daily injections and no more surgical stockings! Managing a walk every day but some days still feel exhausted so just have to give in and rest. Seeing oncologist next week so we will see what plan they have for me. Do you know yet whether you need chemotherapy or not? Xx
Hi,
No I didn't have a stoma which was a surprise because my tumour was low but the surgeon said I had healthy margins so was able to join me back together. I have an appointment in 6 weeks so I assume that will be for my results then I'll know about my plan. I get my staples out tomorrow not looking forward to that. Can't believe how tired I feel all the time absolutely no energy xx
I felt exactly the same so don't worry, we have had major operations and it will take our bodies time to heal. I still feel exhausted some days. Xx
Hi,
I've replied to your private message xx
Hi. Back home after first infusion. Felt ok until about 30 mins before the end. My hands and legs went weird. Like I had fallen in a bed of nettles and I couldn't grip with my hands. Also my throat closed up and I panicked a bit although they had said this could happen. It all settled down eventually and they are lowering my dose for next time. All in all not too bad. Xx
Hi, glad you're ok and all in all it wasn't too bad, it must be scary though the side effects. It's almost like our bodies aren't our own during all this treatment. I feel about 100 years old with no energy even going to the toilet is an effort, but we will get through this. Hope your next session is more comfortable for you xx
