Hodgkin’s lymphoma and also Chyle leak

Hi All, bit advice needed, I have Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosed oct 2020 after robotic surgery back in sept to remove what thought was a Thymoma anyway ive done 2 out of 3 cycles of abvd had interim pet this week get results next week. Back in December i was urgently admitted and in intensive care due to a total white out of my left lung thos has turned out to be a Chyle leak resulting from surgery i had back in September it is still leaking im on a low fat diet, Ng tube fed  getting weekly xrays to check the fluid and last week was a little bit more however my consultant wasn't concerned only when it gets to a certain level he says he will put a small drain in which can be managed at home. I got my head around having lymphoma and hoping pet results are good this week but the chyle leak really scares me. Any advice? Has anyone ever had a chyle leak and it's healed? It really scares me

  • Hello MelB and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to read about your diagnosis and everything you've been through in the process. It sounds very tough, especially with the discovery of the chyle leak, but fingers crossed the results of your latest PET scan will bring good news.

I've had a quick look through the forum and found this discussion in our nurses section of the forum asking about chyle leaks so you're welcome to reach out to them to find out more. Speaking of our nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m if you'd like to discuss this with them as well.

    Kind regards,
