Worried

Hi, After an out of the blue bleed with clots after finishing my periods over 10 years ago I was referred for a scan and biopsy. I have just been to see the consultant to get my results from my womb biopsy. He said the cells were pre cancerous and if it wasn't for Covid he would be offering a hysterectomy. However as they can't he's putting me on hormones , progesterone, with a view to another biopsy in a few months. I did inform him both my grandma, mum and two sisters had passed with cancer but apparently it's all my fault not my families as I am over weight. My main worry is if ,pre Covid, I would have been booked in for a hysterectomy are they playing Russian roulette with my life. Is it going to be too late by the time I get offered an operation. Sorry to seem so negative but I just feel I'm going to follow in their footsteps .

  • Welcome to the forum Livelovelaugh although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

If you're unhappy with what has happened, do be sure to let your GP know so you can talk through your concerns and see what other options are available. You could try seeing if a second opinion is possible with another consultant. To find out more just click here.

Our team of cancer nurses are available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m if you'd like to discuss this with them as well.

Sadly the pandemic is affecting so many people at the moment but hopefully you can get that hysterectomy soon.

    Kind regards,
