Breast Cancer staging

Hi mum 67yrs, has been diagnosed with BC via triple biopsy. Mum is asymptomatic. She would be stage three according to my knowledge as in 4 nodes and the tumor is large 20 mm in comparison to size of her breast. Plan surgeon who diagnosed suggested was chemo -surgery-radiotherapy in various orders. Her receptor Biology was not known.

Today we went to find the stage as an MRI, bone scan and CT was performed to get clear position on stage of Cancer. She has factor 8 Eostrogen receptor biology which is excellent. She has extensive nodes involved, grading confirmed 2 but this is open to interpretation in my opinion.

MDT meeting report a growth in lungs which is small, a much larger growth in inches in uterus and then hotspots shown in bone scan in upper & lower spine.

This is all so hard to swallow, she has been screened regularly except missing the mammo last year. I feel so helpless as they will not do surgery if these growths are confirmed cancers. Awaiting MRI, hoping this is all a bad dream so we can quickly get to surgery to the remove breast and nodes.

Feeling very bad
