Has anyone had an abdominal hysterectomy?
mine tomorrow. Very nervous
Hi,
Of course your anxious but you will be fine!
Still waiting for mine! but I do know of people who have had it and its an operation that has bern done many times
With a high sucess rate ..as long as you follow the after care and stay positive you will recover well
I believe you will be healed very soon.
Ive been recently diagnosed with Endonetrial Cancer grade2 stage1b
Was due to have a hysterectomy but has been cancelled due to COVID
I am very anxious due to the wait( but not the op) as they need to check my lymph nodes for further spread
Think of you and trust all will go perfectly as your a special soul

Same as mine. I'm in Guys as we speak. Had the op yesterday and I feel good.
No menopause symptoms yet either but I'm 52.
I was given a spinal block but I told them I don't want numb legs or feet when I wake up!
so I had a mild one . My legs etc were normal when I awoke and I had no pain. Good luck.
You're right it's a common op.
you're probably having an abdominal hysterectomy too.
I haven't got up yet. I have sleeves on my legs attached to machine for preventing clots etc.
I had lymph nodes out too.
radiotherapy too at some point
good luck xxx

Hi ruby,
So glad it all went well ! Didnt know about the spinal block thing though?...hope your recover is short and you can get back to nomality again

Ive been through the menopause at 40 yrs old now 65yrs! and am on blood thiberes for kife as i had a multipke oe in my lungs abd a brain fistular op toi definately being tested !!
Did you have to wait long to get your op ?
Take care and good luck for the future.
Best wishes
Dee
Yes I did have to wait. My biopsy was cancelled in April when they would have discovered it. So my new date was early November so I have had to wait. Apparently it's a slow growing cancer so maybe that's why plus Covid. I've been for a walk today and climbed the stairs. Eating today too I was sick yesterday. Don't worry you will be fine. My advice is stay active if you can before surgery. I walk a lot with the ramblers etc and it's really helping my recovery. I didn't really eat healthy before my op but if you can then do it. It really helps xx

Hello Ruby
How are you doing?
my mum is also receiving chemo because she has had a recurrence of endometrial cancer in her lymph nodes
sending you lots of love and best wishes xxx ️ ️ ️ X
Oh sorry to hear that xx
i didn't have chemo in the end.
I also have breast cancer so I'm having radiotherapy for both and I've started hormone treatment too.
I finish radiotherapy next week.
My treatment plan changed when my breast cancer was diagnosed. I've been treated for 2 cancers.
Do you know what grade your mums cancer is?
I've had 2 surgeries then 2 lots of radiotherapy but I'm doing well.
Please message me anytime.
I will be thinking of your Mum , it's amazing what they can do these days. Cancer treatment has really come on leaps and bounds.xx
