Essential Thrombocytosis

Hello everyone I'm new here, hope everyone is as well as can be.

I was diagnosed with essential Thrombocytosis but I still don't really understand it all as my gp says it's rare and that they don't know much themselves. They've told me it's to do with my body producing to many platelets but then advised to just look online but I'm seeing conflicting stories, some websites are saying we have a near normal life expectancy and others are saying 30 years so I don't know. Other websites I've seen have said we can't donate organs I'm a bit confused by it all really and I don't know anyone else who has this, any advice would be welcome.

wishing you all a lovely day
