Hi everyone,
I've recently received a diagnosis of stage 2 colon cancer. Surgeons removed 2 thirds of my colon and now I begin 6 months of Capecitabine Chemotherapy. Has anyone been through this, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi JayD.....I have had exactly the same diagnosis as you, my operation was end of October. I started the Capecitbine Chemotherapy mid December. Tomorrow is day 14 of my second cycle. Like you I will have 8 cycles, thankfully so far I have had no real side effects my feet have got a little warm but I took the pharmacist advise and have been putting lots of cream on my hands and feet. I hope that your journey along these six months are good, I am due to complete towards end of May if all goes according to plan.
Take care
Thank you so much for your kind reply,I'm happy to hear you're doing well. Thank you for the tip about the cream, any cream in particular? It's lonely getting diagnosed during a pandemic so it's nice to have this chat group.Best of luck for the rest of your treatment and thanks again for finding the time to reply to me,I really appreciate it :)
Hi JayD.....I have been using E45 cream, was told to use unsecented cream. My sister bought me a large tub of this in Tesco. I just put it in frequently throughout the day...was told to do this before you got symptoms. No time is good to be going through this, but definitely being in this midst of a pandemic doesn't help. You take care and look after yourself.
Thank you for your kind reply Bicho
I will purchase some E45 cream
yes I agree no time is nice to be going through this
I hope your journey continues to be ok and best of luck with the rest of your treatment X

Hi Jayd.....just wondering how you were doing and how well you dealt with chemo. Hope you are keeping well. Xx
Hi Bicho,
it's so lovely to hear from you
How are you getting on?
I hope you carried on tolerating the Chemo well
sadly I didn't and was taken off it after one round
I had bleeding chest and Abdominal pain
bloods weren't good Temperature etc ,..
I don't think it helped that I had the vaccine too at the same time
so I'm under strict surveillance
I had CT scan, ultrasound and MRI which were all ok
so how are you ..what's been going on,
all good
I hope? ️
