Newly diagnosed with Lymphoma

Hi everyone just looking for some info on what happens next?

So a few months back noticed gland was swollen after a month still there and bigger due to other health conditions was sent for urgent 2 week referral with ENT who requested ultrasound and FNA on 9th Dec

Waited what seemed like forever and after chasing with my own doctors was informed sample been sent to another hospital.

Got call 30th Dec saying results back and to come in for face to face on next day. Was told result was B cell lymphoma not much more information than that and to expect to be contacted by MDT?

Does anyone know what happens next and how much more waiting  before contacted?

Also with new lockdown will treatment be delayed.

Thanks

All experts in their own field to plan scans and best possible treatment going forward. Hope it all happens fast get them to tell you stage and best treatment plan. I too have had a terrible shock.. Can't even write it down scars me even more to write it. Started in Octo er for me still. Ant believe it... But just keep going from one bh to the next... Keep on their tails... Keep communicating with hospital so things keep moving forward for you.. As quickly as possible... You will get it sorted o ce treatment starts and plan of action in place you will feel relieved. I hope this helps in some way Esmy.. This is my first time posting but felt compelled to reply to you to try and put you at ease. Hope it helps.

  • Hi Inspire,

Thank you so much for your reply.

It sounds like you are also having a tough time too. I am finding the waiting the most difficult. I really want to know absolutely everything about diagnosis and then treatment plan.

I want to be able to reassure my family as they are so worried especially with the current situation of covid numbers.

Will let u know once I get to meet MDT and what happens next.

If you want to offload how your feeling regarding your own situation I am available. Sometimes easier with people in similar situations.

    Stay safe.

  • Hi Esmy78,

thankyou for replying. Yes stay motivated even though you are scared like me. Before Christmas I got seen by team waited two weeks for appointment...it seemed like eternity I was not sleeping great as worried ...the joyous, carefree fun person was now fearful and overwhelmed. Once I got to top of the stairs me and my young daughter were in tears....just could not take in that I had now had to attend this clinic...we both looked at eachother water dripping from our faces.  The strang thing was once in and seen by nurse bloods done other checks too..we actually started to feel relived that someone was helping and doing something constructive.  We were not shouldering this alone these professionals knew what to do and we met with a consultant who examined me and gave us a plan of action to work towards. The nurse went through what happens next wrote everything down in a hand book. Emsy that was the first day we breathed easy....hopefully this will all get sorted soon for you. Keep ringing your contact nurse or hospital and gt contact numbers. Your condition is well sortable just gt sorted asap, keep all appointments. I have heard that but take no chances and get staged and treaated asap. Great to hear back from you and yes if you want I greatly value someone contacting me about C. Mine is different to yours but the fear remains the same and I totally understand where you are. I had surgery but they are to give me chemo too. Stay strong and we will smile again.

Yes Covid is concern, what a time to have this with the greatest world pandemic...but I try not to listn to too much radio...play music and stay focused on your care...don't worry about what the other hospitals are up to. Stay home as much as possible until you need to attend. There is so much we cannot control just focus on our appointments and what we can control. OK. We will get through this.

    Until we chat again,

    Stay safe,

    Inspire
