Brain Tumour advice

Hello, my mother has been recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and will under go radio therapy along with chemo in the next few weeks. This is a high grade cancer tumour, I'll get more information from the oncologist when we meet next week. Is there anything else I can be doing for her ?

I'm making her eat a balaned diet everyday and trying to walk with her once a day despite her mobilty being very bad, no feeling on the left side.

It all started with her loss of feeling on the left side I didn't think too much of it, I'm not a doctor.. Things got worse and eventually she went into hospital and was doing MRIs / brain scans for about a week. After the biopsy we found out it was a high grade cancer tumour, her walking has got so bad now that she can't walk to well, we've had to get a hosptial bed in our living room. I've even been thinking about CBD oil even to just make the radio and chemo a bit more bareable for her. If anyone has any advice i'd really appriciate it i'm literally clutching at straws here feeling very lost, thanks.

  • Good morning. I was diagnosed in July 2019 with glioblastoma level 4. I had the tumour removed within a week of the diagnosis. Apart from slight headaches am ok, although struggle with incorrect words especially when tired. I am Dexamethasone and other tablets which I cannot remember (my wife looks after my medicine chest) or I would forget. If you want to reply please feel free

  • Hi I need help/advice my husband has been diagnosed with glioma aggresive he had surgery to remove the tumour but only 70% was removed. He will be starting radio and chemo. We are scared..... we have a little 2 year old girl and a baby on the way how can life be so cruel... will he make it and see the baby? The neuro seemed cautious to say anything I feel like I dont understand what is happening I am so confused like what is his outlook on life do we have weeks, months, years. I am heartbroken he is so young.

  • Hi

my daughter had glioblastoma multiforme and it is difficult to understand how life can be so cruel. I can only say that it is difficult but there are so many people who can help don’t be afraid to ask the doctors to put you in touch with McMillan or to have carers come in and help if necessary. Their are people who survive with GBM for many years so never give up hope.

    best wishes
