Surprising diagnosis - grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma

Hi all,

so, after finding a lump last month on my tiny boobs I booked an appointment to see the doctor. I’ve got a slight family history of bc and knew the risks. But, I’ve had a scare before, so I was prepared for biopsy, etc, and a talking to about changes etc.

I had a biopsy and scans on Thursday last week and was told it was a Fibroadenoma, not to worry I’m only 32, yadda ya. I got a call for results today.

As soon as I walked in the (lovely) consultant asked me to phone my husband and ask him to come in. At that point it clicked.

So ive been diagnosed with a grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma.

I feel kind of weird. I haven’t cried or anything, I feel numb I think. I don’t want to upset other people etc. Weird situation to be in !

anywho I have to wait for a few more results to know if we are going for chemo or surgery first, and I’ll know in a few weeks. Right now I’m just looking for a mate

  • Hey ....

woke up one morning to pick up my dirty washing of my bedroom floor and noticed dry blood in my bra ... WTF ....

went to walk in centre got checked from there was sent up to RVI my local hospital.. 3 weeks later .... thought it's just me going theought the change ... I'm 45 .... after spending 2/3 hours being poked prodded and having scans and a biopsy... I heard the worst .. this wasn't supposed to happen to me ... this happens to other people ... I have been diagnosed with what you have ... I'm due to get a mastectomy on the 2nd of march ... I have a 12 year old daughter and I'm a single parent ... I haven't told her yet ... how do you ??

  • Snap! Wow even saying snap to someone newly diagnosed with bc is so bloody weird!
you know there is no right or wrong way to deal with your cancer diagnosis. Listen to your body!

I was diagnosed on Friday with stage 2 IDC I'm er pos and waiting on her2 result to say if I do surgery then radiotherapy (negative result) or chemo and then surgery (positive result)

I think I'm slowly getting my head around things, I'm crazy stubborn and know that I have this in the bag,

feeling numb is your bodies way of helping you digest the information, I'm at a very angry want to fight the world stage, I'm writing a blog which is very helpful. I can put in words the thoughts in my head. I've had a few tears, but not because I have cancer, because I'm dragging so many good people who don't deserve this down a cancer journey.

let me know if you want a chat,

    good luck

    Vicki
