Just diagnosed with Melanoma, how do you track your moles?

Hi everyone. I just been diagnosed with melanoma (stage 1a) so lickly it was found very early. I am now paranoid about my moles. I have 100s. Even my dermatologist said that it won't be easy to track all changes.

So I was wondering if there is anyone in a same situation and what is the best way you found to track your moles? I will definitely be going for regular checks with dermatologist but was also thinking of using an app or AI mapping.

Any advice where to look and what you found works best would be great. I look at my skin now and all I can see is one big cancer...its so scary.

Thank you

  • Hi KasiaMs,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read what you are going through at the moment.

While I can't really advise on this, my reply here will boost your post so that more people will see it and so hopefully you'll receive further replies from others with any tips to offer. It's good to see you have also had some responses from others on a different thread.

It may also help to speak to one of our nurses to see if they have any suggestions. If you would like to do that then you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Do also be sure to ask your dermatologist any questions you have too.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi Ben,

Thank you so much for your response. With the amount of moles I have and considering how diffrent they are, I am really concerned with tracking them. I went to the dermatologist with few moles that I was worried about and the one that turned out to be melanoma was one I did not even pay attention too.

I may reach out to a nurse as well to seek any advice and will obviosly be seeing dermatologist on a regular basis but would like to find out more about self check.

If you see any feeds on that subject, please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Kasia
