Worried

Hi

my dad has recently been had a biopsy from a large lump on the side of his face. The doctor said it had cancerous cells in it and he is having to have further tests to assess if it is anywhere else and what type of cancer it is. He said it could be salivary as it seems to be on his salivary gland. He has been back and forth with doctors for 2 months. They have given him antibiotics a d told him it's likely to be a cist. I am now so scared this wait is going to mean it has spread. Does it sound like this type of cancer and what In your experience

  • Hi Lad68 and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry your dad is still waiting to get an official diagnosis. It must be very stressful for you all but fingers crossed you'll get some answers soon.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will be along soon to offer their thoughts but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses then do give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
