Biopsy results CIN 2-3

Hello everyone and hope everyone is well..

I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance, I've been stressing myself out silly.

So, at 25 I went for my first smear which showed HPV Positive and Borderline Abnormal cell changes and had a Coloscopy booked.

During my Coloscopy 2 biopsies were taken and the Doctor was convinced it was only CIN 1 and mild.

Biopsy results come 6 days after with CIN 2-3. Now what worries me is I haven't been given a treatment appointment it says 'a monthly appointment' 'to get the most appropriate care' this wording has me extremely worried. It doesn't say to discuss treatment which I think if should have.  And why 'monthly meetings' wouldn't it just be a meeting.

I think my anxiety has me looking into this too much and I have left a voicemail to contact the Consultant which hopefully I'll hear back on Monday.

I'm looking to see if anyone had a letter written in the same way, or if I'm overthinking it. The more I think the more I think I've had constant period pains here and there for years and put it down to birth control, now I'm worried that I should of thought more into it.

Any advice is welcomed and I'm sorry for the long post!

Also sorry if I've posted to the wrong section.

Thank you.

  • Hi Purple25,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must have been unsettling. You mention that you have contacted your consultant and hopefully by now you have heard back - or will do so soon. Your doctor is of course the best person to discuss this with so hopefully it won't be long until you get some clarification on this.

Meanwhile if anyone here has any similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
