  • Hello Mellyg,

Welcome to Cancer Chat! I can imagine it must have been a shock for you to be suddenly diagnosed with a melanoma on your eye. I hope that the radiotherapy treatment goes well. As it is a very rare cancer, it must be quite hard for you to meet anyone who has even heard of it. We have, however, detailed information on our website on this page on eye cancer which I hope will be useful to you.

There is even a section on radiotherapy for eye melanoma which you can read here

Our nurses are also very happy to answer any questions you may have on this. You can give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I thought I would also mention a few Cancer Chat threads from members who have been diagnosed with eye cancer. [@JayB]‍ for example posted in March on this thread and you will notice that AngieT mentioned this charity, https://www.ocumeluk.org/ which supports people like you affected by ocular melanoma. You can also read [@Nat37]‍ 's story on this thread and hopefully it won't be long before someone else on the forum who has been affected by eye melanoma drops by and says hello. Knowing that others here have had a similar diagnosis will hopefully help you feel a little less alone.

Best of luck with your treatment. I hope it all goes well!
