What a year :angry: such rotten luck. I'm sure you're still in shock as it can take a while to get used to. Chemo can be scary but I would look at it as a lifesaver, the cancer needs to go and if it takes some chemo then so be it.

I hope the wedding gets to go ahead this time and that you can focus on something wonderful rather than cancer for a while.

Thank you for your response and helpful words, I am trying to think of it as a lifesaver which it is. I've now got my full diagnosis plus treatment plan from the doctor which looks daunting. I have however spoken to the chemotherapy nurses who are wonderful.

We have our fingers crossed for the wedding, something to look forward to before the chemo starts.

I think you are right, chemo seems to be the route of choice for triple negative. I hope you get your results soon and know what is next. I've just had my node biopsy result which has confirmed cancer in the node. I've also scared myself reading about TNBC but have now stopped as so many people have told me about positive outcomes. We'll get through the chemo and it will save our lives. Good luck to you with everything.

I'm so sorry to hear about your node biopsy results - it sounds likely that we will be going through treatment at a similar time.  Good luck and keep positive.  I will have my results next Friday.  

Good luck to you with your results, even though my node biopsy shows cancer my doctor is still classifying this as early-stage and says it is treatable. I'm staying positive but have wobbles too, we'll kick this together.

Like you I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in May and because the core biopsy on some lymph nodes in my left axilla showed metastatic adenocarcinoma I was started on chemotherapy prior to surgery and radiotherapy.  I have my final dose of chemo next Thursday and my surgery is scheduled for November.  Whilst there have been many ups and down along the way - I could not have got through without the support of my family and the wonderful nurses and my Oncologist.  It is scary but I have tried to remain positive and I must admit I am really rocking the bald look at the moment!!

I was diagnosed with the tnbc in May this year, so I know exactly how you feel. I was also dreading chemo but to be honest it really wasn't as bad as you think. I know everyone is different but for me it was ok, I did get some side effects, I did lose my hair within a few weeks, a bit of heartburn, tingly fingers and toes but that was about it. I finished chemo at the end of September and then had lumpectomy on 5th November which again wasn't too bad, I was a bit tender for a few weeks but nothing too bad. I start radiotherapy this week and I'm having 5 days of intense radiotherapy, previously told it was for 15 days but due to Covid they are doing it over 5. I am quite a strong person but do have crps as well to contend with but so far, I feel ok. Good luck with your treatment stay strong and be positive
