Secondary brain cancer from the lung cancer

My mum was recently diagnosed with secondary brain cancer spread from the lungs.

just been told fluid around the heart also. I'm hoping to get her home. We don't know the prognosis yet (obviously not going to be good but how long we don't know?) but should

I be contacting anyone like McMillan cancer? Hospices? Palliative Care? or just wait for hospitals lead?

  • Hi Jolit,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to read about your mum - I hope you're getting on OK although I imagine this must be incredibly difficult.

It sounds like the best thing may be to wait for all the information from the hospital and to talk things through with them so you know what the potential next steps and options are. You would then be able to reach out to others for support as needed.

Of course, there's no harm in calling Macmillan at this stage if you feel you'd like to be proactive and to see if they have any initial advice.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
