Hi , my husband was diagnosed last year with stage 4 KC , his tumour is 18cm and inoperable, it has spread to his lungs , pluera and having a scan today as they believe it has now spread to his lymph nodes . He is on immunotherapy by iv every 4 weeks which is slightly kinder than the tki's by tablet . Usually KC is very slow growing and there are new treatments available and loads  being trialled . Kidney cancer UK have a great support group on Facebook full of supportive people with various experiences of KC . The consultants won't give you a best/worst case scenario unless you ask  and only ask if you want to know the answer because they won't sugarcoat it .Good luck
