How long are ppl waiting for a cancerous mole to be removed?

My partner has been waiting now for 5 weeks since seeing a dermatologist regarding an Milignant melinoma mole. He also has been to the breast clinic 3 weeks ago due to bloody discharge from the nipples.

I feel so sorry for him, no answers, no letters just nothing!!

He has called them but they just say they are sorry for the delay

What else can we do?

  • Hi PurpleBow,

I'm so sorry to hear about your partner. I think if you call 111  they might be able to get you through to other specialists quicker. I would say speak for your partner and really explain the excruciating pain he is in along with the other symptoms and that he needs be seen by someone.

They will arrange for a nurse to call back within the day, and from then a doctor would get in contact with you. They will assess everything that you tell them and get in contact with the right specialists/doctors directly. Most likely from this (if they assess you as "needing to be seen due to pain and bleedin") sort of thing, within a few days you'd have a scheduled appointment to a hospital near you. If you really cannot wait the process and I do agree it is taking a long time for something important, do call and push to be seen ASAP.

Covid also didn't help the situation, delaying and cancelling all other appointments. I'm assuming the current waiting time is due to all previously delayed appointments that are being rescheduled. I hope any of this helped,  I'm truly sorry your partner is having to wait so long.

    All the best,

    Maz

Thank you so much, I'll talk to him and encourage him to do that. I might call but i doubt they give me any info.
