GBM4 - Primary spinal tumour

Hello everyone,

my partner has been diagnosed with GBM4 of the spinal column (primary tumour)

He received surgery where specialists removed the tumour (egg sized) but left some microscopic fragments as they were close to his nerves and were confident it was benign. However, we received the devastating news that the tumour is in fact GBM4. He is due to to undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Specialists says that they have NEVER come across this case as GBM4 rumours are usually found in the brain, so in terms of prognoses they are unsure, but have said that if they were treating this is the brain they would give 12-18 months.

He is 37 years old, healthy, fit and active.

I am writing to see if anyone has had anything similar, their advise, guidance and just anything to help as we are not willing to let cancer be the end of his story.. but the beginning!

thank you in advance

Laura
