Any advice please - I have grade 2 invasive Ductal cancer

Hi Im 42 and was diagnosed last weds with grade 2 invasive Ductal cancer and now awaiting  a MRI and ct scan. Is it normal for them to request scans as I'm scared it sounds like it's  somewhere else in my body too Cos it's in my arm pit lymph node, I can't seem to stop  feeling scared at the result I know I have to think positive but any advice or help would be really appreciated. thanks

    Hi Trixie,

    Welcome to our forum,

I am sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and know only too well how frightening this can be. I expect that they are doing these scans because it is in your lymph nodes. Let me reassure you that it is perfectly normal for many of us to have CT or MRI scans to rule out any spread, as much as to find and locate it.

Much of how you are feeling at present is down to the fear of the unknown. Believe it or not, you will feel better once you know exactly what you are dealing with and start to treat it.

I have had two bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years and have had quite a number of these scans in that time. Fortunately, they  have never found any spread.

I sincerely hope that you will find the same.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
