Hi sotmum72, this is all too much for you to cope with, your Dad will be allocated a dedicated cancer McMillan nurse and you need to speak to her as soon as possible to lay out the facts of your situation.  Having cared for my Mum with dementia, then my husband's amputation of his leg and working full time I know you need help and my children were grown up and didn't live near us.  My husband now has incurable lung cancer so we've been dealing with that for 3 years. So be pro active before it all becomes even harder for you.  There is help available and you need to take it.  Your County Council should also run a carers scheme so e mail them for help.  Your parents GP should be made aware, get your parents to write a note saying you have permission to help them, lodge it with the practice and you won't go round in circles when you need medicines, more information or any of the many things they need, it saves a lot of time and energy, also get permission from Dad to be allowed to speak on his behalf during his cancer treatments.
