High grade non Hodgkin lymphoma

I was only diagnosed yesterday, but I am really worried that chemo will be delayed because of covid backlog. Any Essex people that could share information of the current waiting times. Thankyou

  • Hello Plantlady

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about you've been diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. It's understandable that you're feeling concerned about lots of things at the moment, including if, or how, the Covid19 pandemic might impact your treatment.

Waiting times and clinic availability seems to vary across the country even in "normal" circumstances but I know from the posts that we've had that more and more, services seem to be returning to normal.

Were you given any contact details of a specialist support nurse at your hospital? They would be best placed to answer your questions about waiting times but if not then do give your Consultants secretary a call and explain your concerns. Someone should be able to let you know either way.

If you'd like to speak to one of our nurses about your diganosis and planned treatment then you're most welcome to call them. I'm sure they will be able to offer you some advice and support. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you don't have to wait long for some firm news on the next steps and that treatment goes smoothly.

    Best wishes,
