Liver Cancer

Hi,

 

My mother has been recently diagnosed with Liver Cancer (Diffuse HCC) in 1st week of August.

 

Medication:

1. Radiation for 5 days

2. Lenvima Tables (Once a day)

 

After couple of days taking Lenvima Medicine my mother has side effects (Constipation, Lose Motions, Fatigue, Unable to speak, Unable to walk). And because of this doctor has stopped Lenvima Tablets. He has kind of asked to be prepared.

 

I wanted to check if there alternative medicines avaliable for trating Liver Cancer?

 

Considering it has been less then 1 month when the disease was diagnosed, its very hard for the family to accept this.

 

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Hello K100, 

    I can imagine that as it's only been one month since the diagnosis, this is very hard for the family to accept. Your mother's doctor would be best placed to advise you as to whether there is anything she could take as an alternative  to Lenvima tablets. So don't hesitate to talk to her specialist and ask whether there are any alternative options that would not have such debilitating side effects.

    I hope that you manage to get some insights into this talking to your mum's doctor or another specialist who will know your mum's medical history.
